MY LIFE- Already .........BUT NOT YET
All Ready but yet is a concept I heard about from my favorite Rapper Sho Baraka (real name Amisho Lewis). I draw a lot of inspiration from Sho, his music, and the insights he offers on his podcast called Untamed (check lionandliars.com). Already but not yet refers to a few aspects of Christianity that i won't explain here. Truthfully not sure if I can but I hope the what I'm gonna explain can give you a better picture.


Last summer while i was in Edmonton, i took some time to reflect on this book called Soul Cravings by Erwin McManus. I was struck by the Question, What does my soul crave?. As i thought about that i wrote poem called MY Story. It gives you a deep insight into my story. The deepest desire that motivated me and how i sought to satisfy it. A lot people know me, know facts about me, but very few know MY STORY. This poem shows the heart of it and I hope gives a better picture of my faith in Christ. It is something i told myself I would share with others via the internet but can't seem to find to courage to do.See I think My story is all ready but not yet. Meaning its written but yet ready for your eyes to see. Not so much because I lack courage right now but because I have a sense of timing (I think). I will post it next Friday. But it is something I would like to share with you in person. So come to York university next week Thursday as I perform MY Story at an event hosted by Campus4Christ called Icrave Intimacy.

A World of Transparency

This is a world of transparency
a place for you to see
ME
my thoughts
my views
My heart
All on display
As clear as day
Some of you know I'm quite introspective
For others this will be a new perspective
I'll try to as authentic as possible in these logs
and i guess it can start with my original opinion by blogs
to be quite specific
I never thought they were that terrific
things for the narcissistic
though that was part of my justification
beneath my hateration
lies the my FEAR
NEVER did I let people draw near
because they would see
the real
ME
so the thought of putting myself out here
was a thought I could not bear
but since Christ became the center of my life
things changed
so I no longer have those old chains
Christ said I was to be light
and if i was going to do this right
I had to be open to my friends,
and that thought still looks scary from this end,
But I believe in the power of the cross,
In my life JESUS IS BOSS,
Everything else in my life is LOSS
So you know what that means right?
Desmond has to be light
Light is transparent,
meaning Desmond is transparent
and if in isn't apparent
I'm not there yet
but I hope to be
so from now own,
this will be
of ME
